About me

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my cooking blog – CandyCanCook! Yes, my name is Candy. Since I was a little girl, I had a big passion in cooking. I always wanted to be around to help my mom cooking. I used to write down a lot of recipes that I learned from my mom and my grandma. The habit of collecting recipes have been naturally developing my cooking skills and passion.

I would say I’m a lucky person who has an adventurous life. I was born and raised in Vietnam, but I used to live in different countries such as Thailand, Singapore, and now I’m living in the US with my husband. Exposing to many different cuisines and cultures is a chance for me to taste a lot of wonderful and yummy dishes. However, my husband and I still love and miss Vietnamese food so much. My hubby is the one who encouraged me to start this blog to share the way I cook to everyone. I’m so thankful for his support so that I can pursuit my passion in cooking. I thought this blog would not only be the place for me to share my recipes, but also our life and experiences. So let’s call it our journey of life.

To me, cooking a dish doesn’t need an exact recipe because each one of us would find an ultimate and unique way for himself/herself. It depends on the ingredients and tools you have on hands, as well as the constraints of your time and places to cook. More importantly, I would say it depends on the way you feel about the food. So cook as you feel!

CandyCanCook started out as my personal cooking blog in 2010, and now has grown into a big community of young people who share the same hobby of cooking around the world. We have at this moment over 6,000 page views per day.

I hope that you’ll enjoy all the recipes that I’ve been sharing. Here you will be able to find a lot of Asian dishes, and especially Vietnamese dishes, plus the way I cook. If you guys have any questions, comments, or anything to share to me, please feel free to contact me at my email address: [email protected] because I would absolutely love to hear from you!

Thank you for coming and happy cooking!
